INTERNATIONAL CHARITY DAY

Every year, charities all over the world help to save and improve people’s lives, fighting disease, protecting children, and giving hope to many thousands of people.

Charity is vital, as it enables us to reach out to wider parts of society, assisting those who need our help the most. This is why the International Day of Charity is so important. It raises awareness about charity and why it is important to help those who are in need.

International Day of Charity serves to increase and enhance social responsibility across the entire world, increasing our support for charitable causes and bringing everyone together in solidarity. This day presents you with a great opportunity to get involved in the charity events that are going on around the world.

Haydock Commercial Vehicles have chosen a local based charity to our Ellesmere Port site called 'People's Pantry'.  We are supporting them each month until the end of the year with a donation to assist in the great work they do.

They provide compassionate, practical support to people in crisis to tackle the root causes that lock people into poverty and build people resilience so they are less likely to need a foodbank on the future.

They offer a safe space for everyone, encourage people to take control of their own wellbeing through training, support, and practical help.

At all times they will show respect, compassion, and confidentiality to people who enter The Peoples Pantry. They will engage with working people who are struggling due to raising energy costs and lower wages; assisting them in accessing services and support – letting them know there is no shame in asking for a hand up – it is not a handout.

To achieve this, they will work with agencies such as but not exclusive – Local Authority, Housing Providers, CAB, Health Care Professions, Workzone, Emergency Services; to offer a wide range of support to single people, small and large families; working families; people of pensionable age – such as free hot meal once a week; gardening activities; space to relax and chat; practical advice – how to live on a budget.
