International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.
Marked annually on March 8th, International Women's Day (IWD) is one of the most important days of the year to:
* raise awareness about women's equality
* lobby for accelerated gender parity
* fundraise for female-focused charities
We are joining the celebrations with Scania GB on International Women's Day
A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.
We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.

We are celebrating our Sales Manager, Emma based at our Deeside Truck Services depot, who is 1 of 2 Sales Women in the Scania GB Network.
Emma commenced Deeside Truck Services at 19 years old, driving the parts P Reg Transit Van, which she loved, travelling miles around the North Wales coast.
At that point. Emma knew she had a job for life, and feels that Haydock Commercials are a fantastic company to work for. They supported her through passing her HGV license and any training needed on the Product.
At the age of 24 she applied for the used truck sales position, Simon Dykes had not long taken over Haydock Commercials, “nervous was an understatement at that interview”
But was successful, and has never looked back. Progressing to New Truck Sales and managing all aftersales service contracts and Repair and Maintenance for all the customers within Deeside Truck Services
Selling Aftersales products helped her build up relationships with the customers that purchased new trucks, extending R&M’s or adding service contracts, managing their finance options and any workshop services.
23 years on, "I have definitely got the best job in world, passionate about the product I sell"
Challenges on the way? This would have to be the shift from traditional fuels to more sustainable alternatives
